History: One of a series of nine pilgrimage houses built between 1625 and 1635 by Cardinal Francis of Dietrichstein. They provided peace and privacy to the pilgrims who came to the Black Madonna of Mikulov, which the cardinal had already brought from Loreto, Italy, and built a Loreta chapel for her (1625). The chapel was destroyed by a devastating fire in 1784. It stood on the site of the courtyard of the present Dietrichstein tomb.
